Soul Food

Wow. I’ve just returned from an incredible experience I never knew I needed. If you’re a regular listener to the show, you might recall Jem Fuller, our frequent guest, gently nudging me to go off the grid for some soul-searching in the Himalayan mountains. At first, I was hesitant - taking time away and investing in myself felt like a big ask. But when the perfect opportunity presented itself, I said ‘yes,’ and wow, am I grateful I did.

This trip was the catalyst for a huge (and much-needed) shift in me.

Standing on a mountain, feeling the sun beating down on my back and sweat trickling down, while gazing at snow-capped peaks so close I felt like I could touch them - surrounded 360 degrees by this magic - was an experience beyond words. It all sounds a bit woo-woo, but there’s something about the energy of those mountains, something alive and electric underfoot. Naturally, I couldn’t leave without bringing some of that magic home. I snapped up and pocketed four special-to-me pieces of that mountain - one from each peak we reached. When you feel something like that, you want to hold onto it.

Since arriving in India, I’ve been immersed in a deep internal processing - something that’s still humming inside me now and may continue for a while (I hope). The trip was filled with rituals, sharing vulnerable stories, exploring our purpose, and letting go of what no longer serves us - literally leaving it behind on the mountain. There were tears, breakthroughs, and epiphanies, all brimming with wonder, hope, perspective, and awe. I’ll share everything in an upcoming podcast, along with so much more that I’m still unpacking.

One thing’s for sure: I’ll be carving out mini opportunities like this for myself regularly from now on. And I’d love to take you along for the ride. Keep an eye out for more thoughts, insights, and updates landing in your inbox soon.
